The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) have always been known for their glamorous appearance and spirited performances on game days. However, a recent report has shed light on the lesser-known aspects of their lives off the field.
One of the most striking revelations was the stark difference in salaries between the DCC and the players on the team, particularly Jerry Jones’ players. According to the report, the DCC earn a mere $500 per game, totaling approximately $75,000 annually. Despite also receiving payment for appearances, many of the cheerleaders must balance this role with a full-time job in fields such as nursing, sales, marketing, and public relations. To top it off, game days involve grueling 11-hour shifts for these dedicated women.
But the surprises don’t end there. The stringent requirements and rules the DCC must adhere to are equally astonishing. Each year, aspiring cheerleaders must undergo an extensive selection process to join the team, and once they do, they are bound by a non-fraternization contract with the players. Dating and interacting with team members are strictly off-limits.
As if that isn’t challenging enough, the cheerleaders must also abide by strict appearance and conduct rules. They have separate dressing rooms from the players at the stadium and are not allowed any physical contact with fans during photo ops. Maintaining a flawless appearance is mandatory – from daily styling and makeup to the prohibition of visible tattoos and weight gain. Once they receive their custom-fitted uniform, there are no replacements, meaning they must stay the same size throughout their time with the DCC.
In addition to these rules, the cheerleaders are not allowed to chew gum, attend venues serving alcohol, or partake in any partying. They are expected to be role models on and off the field, embodying the values of the renowned team they represent. These hardworking women sacrifice much of their personal lives to bring spirit and entertainment to the fans, all while upholding the strict standards set by the DCC organization. A true testament to dedication and professionalism in the world of professional sports cheerleading.
