The Philadelphia Eagles made a splash in the offseason by acquiring talented wide receiver Jahan Dotson in a trade, much to the delight of his new teammate, A.J. Brown. Brown revealed that he had already worked out with Dotson when the latter was still with the Commanders, giving him high praise by saying he doesn’t typically allow just anyone to train with him.
“I’m not going to put too much on his plate but he does. He has a big opportunity in front of him,” Brown said in an interview with Dave Zangaro of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com. “Most of the time, I’m getting coverage rotated to me, most importantly. Smitty has his 1-on-1 matchups. I can only speak for myself but I know they’re accounting for Smitty as well. So he has a big opportunity, he has mismatches all day and I hope he maximizes those mismatches.”
Brown expressed confidence in Dotson’s ability to shine alongside himself and Devonta Smith in the Eagles’ receiving corps. With the addition of Dotson, defenses will have their hands full trying to contain the explosive offensive weapons at the Eagles’ disposal.
However, Brown did not overlook the contributions of running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Dallas Goedert, emphasizing the importance of utilizing all weapons at their disposal to avoid disappointment in the upcoming season.
As the Eagles gear up for the season ahead, the potential for a high-flying offense led by Dotson, Brown, Smith, Barkley, and Goedert is certainly a tantalizing prospect for fans eager to see what this talented group can accomplish on the field.
