The Los Angeles Chargers may have a new head coach in Jim Harbaugh, but he wants people to know that he’s not the difficult person that some may think he is. In a recent interview with ESPN, Harbaugh addressed the rumors about his personality, stating, “The narrative that I’m hard to get along with or whatever other narrative out there is, that’s just people’s narrative.”
Harbaugh strongly believes that those who truly know him understand his dedication to building a successful football team. He made it clear that his primary focus is always on what is best for the team. Chargers President John Spanos also had positive things to say about Harbaugh, mentioning that the references he received before hiring the coach were all glowing. Spanos noted, “His passion and energy rubs off on you a little bit and the whole mindset of attacking each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. I mean, I know it kind of sounds clichè, but he lives it, he breathes it, and it is real, and it rubs off on people.”
Ultimately, Harbaugh’s success will be measured on the field just like any other coach. His predecessor, Brandon Staley, was let go due to not winning enough games. Harbaugh has been brought in with the expectation of winning, and if he can deliver, the Chargers will be more than happy to have him on board. So, all eyes will be on Harbaugh as he takes on this new challenge with the Chargers.
