Leading up to the highly anticipated AFC Championship, Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker decided to stir the pot a bit. However, after causing a bit of tension prior to the game, Tucker has no intention of repeating his actions.
In a recent interview, Tucker was questioned about the unusual altercation that occurred when he intruded on the Kansas City Chiefs’ pregame warmup. This interference led Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to later describe Tucker as “a fucking dick about it.”
“All I’ll say about it is I’m excited to go into a great environment, play against a great football team, with great players, great coaches, and do everything I can to prepare myself to be ready to contribute to the Ravens winning a football game,” Tucker stated, as reported by Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. “And that’s all I got to say about it.”
But Tucker couldn’t resist adding a bit more to his statement.
“My focus will be on preparing myself to go into the football game and contribute to a Ravens win,” Tucker reiterated. “That’s all I care about.”
It appears that ruffling the feathers of players like Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes is not on Tucker’s agenda this time around. Lessons were learned the hard way for Tucker and the Ravens during their clash in January.
The Ravens will face off against the Chiefs to kick off the season on Thursday night, with the Chiefs celebrating another championship banner. This game could potentially have significant implications when it comes to determining playoff seeding down the road.
