The Chiefs superfan, known as Chiefsaholic, has found himself in hot water as he has been sentenced on charges related to a bank robbery spree just hours before his beloved Chiefs kicked off their quest for a third straight title.
Xaviar Babudar, the die-hard Chiefs fan, pleaded guilty to money laundering, transporting stolen property across state lines, and bank robbery earlier this year. A federal courthouse in Kansas City was the setting for his sentencing, where he was handed a 17.5-year prison term. Babudar’s legal team was pushing for a 10-year sentence, while prosecutors were aiming for a 20-year stretch behind bars.
The whirlwind of events began in December 2022 when Babudar was initially arrested following an armed robbery. Despite being released on bond, he managed to jump bail and continued his criminal spree by robbing more banks before finally being apprehended again in July 2023.
In a shocking twist, Babudar made a startling admission as part of his plea deal, confessing to robbing over $800,000 from banks. As a result, he has been ordered to pay back more than $530,000 in restitution to his victims. Adding fuel to the fire, Babudar is also facing a staggering $10.8 million civil judgment after being sued by a bank teller whom he had threatened with a gun.
The fallout from Chiefsaholic’s actions has rocked the Chiefs’ community, leaving fans and officials alike stunned by the revelation. One can only imagine the disbelief and disappointment felt by those who once cheered alongside him at games, now faced with the harsh reality of his criminal activities.
As the dust settles and the repercussions of his actions reverberate through the Chiefs’ fanbase, one thing remains clear – even the most dedicated supporters can be led astray when temptation and desperation collide. In this case, Chiefsaholic’s unwavering passion for his team ultimately led him down a path of crime and consequences, a cautionary tale for fans everywhere to heed.
