Cleveland Browns’ left tackle Jedrick Wills made a welcome return to practice on Wednesday, but fans will have to wait a bit longer before seeing him back in action on game day. Wills, who has been recovering from an MCL injury sustained on November 5th, shared that he won’t be starting immediately as he eases his way back into the lineup. Unfortunately, he was unable to practice on Thursday, signaling that his full return may still be a ways off.
“It seems unlikely that Wills even dresses for the game,” remarked a source close to the team, indicating that his absence from the starting lineup is set to continue for the time being. In Wills’ absence, the Browns will turn to either Jack Conklin or James Hudson to hold down the left tackle position.
Conklin, who usually plays right tackle, is also dealing with his own injury concerns, as he returns from a knee issue that has limited his participation in practice for a second straight day. The team is hopeful that Conklin will be able to suit up and provide a much-needed boost to the offensive line come game time.
As for other players on the injury report, wide receiver David Bell, linebacker Jordan Hicks, defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, and linebacker Nathaniel Watson all remained limited in practice as they work their way back from various ailments. Their availability for the upcoming game remains uncertain at this time.
On a more positive note, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and defensive end Alex Wright were all full participants in practice once again, indicating that they are on track to make significant contributions in the upcoming game. With their return to full health, the Browns’ roster is looking stronger and more formidable as they prepare for their next matchup.
