Kansas City Chiefs star running back Isiah Pacheco is facing some time on the sidelines after fracturing his fibula in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Monday. Pacheco was seen leaving the stadium in a walking boot and using crutches, having initially limped off the field when the injury occurred.
Rapoport indicated that further tests are scheduled for Monday to assess any associated damage and determine the extent of Pacheco’s absence. “Generally a fractured fibula puts a player out for four-to-six weeks,” Rapoport explained, hinting that Pacheco may end up on the Injured Reserve list.
The injury to Pacheco adds to the Chiefs’ woes on the depth chart, following wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown’s season-ending sternoclavicular injury in the preseason.
Despite the setbacks, the Chiefs managed to stage a remarkable comeback in their game against the Bengals. A crucial pass interference call on Cincinnati’s Daijahn Anthony in the final moments of the game gave the Chiefs a new opportunity, allowing them to secure a game-winning field goal with just 38 seconds remaining. The dramatic finish showcased the resilience and determination of the Chiefs in the face of adversity.
