San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has had an interesting start to the season. After missing out on training camp, he found himself playing catchup as the season kicked off. In the first two games, Aiyuk only saw action on 73 percent of the offensive snaps, hauling in six passes for 71 yards.
Comparing this to his 2023 season, where he played 82 percent of the snaps and averaged 84 receiving yards, Aiyuk might feel like he has some ground to cover. However, there were signs of progress for him in Week 2.
“I feel better. Another week. Another step,” Aiyuk said, as reported by Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area. This positive attitude is crucial as Aiyuk looks to make his mark on the field.
Despite facing challenges with key players like Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey sidelined, Aiyuk remains focused on improving his game.
“I’m just looking to take another step,” Aiyuk expressed. “We’ve got another day in practice today, so looking to get better again today, tomorrow, and Friday, and then just let it go on Sunday, see what happens.”
There is no doubt that Aiyuk has the talent and determination to rise to the occasion. As he continues to work hard and make strides in his performance, the 49ers will be counting on him to step up and deliver when it matters most. Stay tuned to see how Aiyuk’s season unfolds as he faces new challenges and opportunities on the field.
