In what was a tough loss for the Chicago Bears last Sunday night against the Houston Texans, wide receiver DJ Moore couldn’t hide his frustration. The cameras caught Moore looking dejected on the bench multiple times throughout the game, and he admitted that upon seeing the clips in the days following, he did some “self-evaluation.”
Moore acknowledged that his body language during the game was a bit too much, stating, “I shouldn’t have shown as much.” However, he made it clear that his frustration was not aimed at anyone in particular. Despite the disappointment, Moore emphasized that setbacks are part of the game and that every player experiences highs and lows.
“I shouldn’t have shown as much,” Moore explained, as reported by Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Chicago. “But it’s a part of the game. Like I said, we were one play away from the game-changing. And we just couldn’t connect. Nobody on offense could connect with the one play or get the one play started to get us on track and go up. It’s football. Everybody is going to have their ups and downs and frustrations.”
While Moore’s frustration was palpable, he is not alone in his feelings regarding the Bears’ offensive struggles. However, the solution is not to press but to find a way to unlock the unit’s potential. This Sunday, the Bears will face the Indianapolis Colts, who have been struggling defensively. This presents an opportunity for the Bears to channel their emotions in a positive way and stay focused early in the game to capitalize on the Colts’ weaknesses.
