The Cleveland Browns are facing some concerns with their star defensive end, Myles Garrett, who is currently battling foot injuries that seem to be an ongoing issue for him. Garrett himself has admitted that these injuries may be something he has to manage for the remainder of his football career.
When asked about the possibility of surgery on his feet, Garrett mentioned to reporters that he would prefer to put off that conversation until after the season. He acknowledged the pain and discomfort he is experiencing but emphasized that he is focused on managing the situation and playing through it. “The issue itself is something that I’ll probably have to deal with for however long I end up playing,” Garrett said.
Despite the challenges he is facing, Garrett shared that taking time off from practice during the week has been helpful in ensuring he is ready for game day. “It’s still painful, it’s just trying to feel as well as it can,” Garrett explained.
During games, Garrett has been given some extra rest this season, playing 72 percent of the Browns’ defensive snaps compared to 81 percent last year. However, he expressed his desire to be on the field and contribute as much as possible. “Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks it will continue to get better until it’s something that’s not bothering me as consistently as it is,” Garrett said optimistically.
Garrett, who was named the NFL’s defensive player of the year, has managed to record two sacks this season despite his injuries and reduced playing time. The Browns will be relying on his resilience and determination as they continue to push forward in their efforts on the field.
