Amidst uncertainty surrounding starting quarterback Jordan Love’s availability due to a knee injury, the Green Bay Packers have made some roster moves ahead of their upcoming game against the Titans.
In a press conference on Friday, head coach Matt LaFleur addressed the situation, stating that the team would wait until game time to make a decision on Love’s status. LaFleur said, “We’ll give it up to game time” when discussing the quarterback’s injury.
With Love missing last week’s game and backup Malik Willis stepping in, the Packers have elevated Sean Clifford from the practice squad to the active roster as an insurance policy. If Love is unable to play, Willis is expected to start again, with Clifford as his backup.
Willis performed admirably in Week 2, completing 12-of-14 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. He also showcased his mobility by rushing six times for 41 yards.
In addition to the quarterback situation, the Packers have also promoted cornerback Robert Rochell from the practice squad. There was also a minor concern regarding kicker Brayden Narveson’s right foot issue, but he is listed as available to play and has no game status.
As the Packers prepare to face the Titans on Sunday, the team remains optimistic about their depth and ability to overcome any challenges that may arise. The uncertainty surrounding Love’s injury only adds to the intrigue and excitement heading into the matchup. Stay tuned for more updates as game day approaches.
