Tennessee Titans defensive end Jeffery Simmons is determined not to let his elbow injury keep him off the field any longer. Despite sitting out of Monday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins, Simmons is confident that he will be back in action after the team’s bye week.
In a statement to Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, Simmons expressed his optimism about his recovery, stating, “I feel much better right now, much better today. Going into this bye week will be good for me to keep my conditioning up and with my elbow. I know I’ll be ready to roll against the Colts.”
Comparing his injury to that of a baseball pitcher requiring Tommy John surgery for a tear in the ligament, Simmons acknowledged the seriousness of his situation. However, he revealed that doctors have assured him that he does not need surgery and can focus on strengthening his elbow for his comeback.
Despite the setback, Simmons is determined to hit the ground running against the Indianapolis Colts in the next game. His commitment to his recovery and return to the lineup is unwavering, and Titans fans can expect to see him back on the field giving it his all.
