Folks, welcome to Week 6 of the NFL season! It’s been a rollercoaster ride for our staff when it comes to making picks. We saw a lot of upset picks go down the drain last week, but fear not, because this week, our writers and editors are playing it safe with mostly favoring the favorites. Three of our pickers even went with all favorites, showing they’re not messing around.
There are some massive matchups on the schedule this week. Kicking things off is a Thursday night showdown in the NFC West between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams are coming off tough losses and are hungry for redemption. On Sunday, the red-hot Baltimore Ravens will take on one of the season’s biggest surprises, Jayden Daniels’s Washington Commanders. And to wrap up the week, the New York Jets will face a tough test against the Buffalo Bills in their first game since parting ways with coach Robert Saleh.
Let’s take a look at who we have making picks for us this season:
– Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter
– Conor Orr, senior writer
– Gilberto Manzano, staff writer
– Matt Verderame, staff writer
– John Pluym, managing editor
– Mitch Goldich, senior editor
All picks are straight up, but if you’re looking for picks against the spread and more gambling content, head over to SI Betting. Keep an eye out for those green squares, as they denote upset picks. And just a heads up, last week the Miami Dolphins were favored over the New England Patriots when we made our picks, but the Patriots ended up flipping to favorites by game time, so we won’t count it as an upset pick in anyone’s records.
Get ready for some football action this week, folks! It’s going to be a wild ride.
