In a shocking turn of events, the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager, Jerry Jones, took center stage this week after a humiliating 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions. Following the defeat, Jones unleashed a viral tirade on the local morning radio show, “Shan and RJ,” where he frequently makes appearances.
In the aftermath of his rant, Jones spoke with Diana Russini of The Athletic and made bold statements, saying “the wrong ones were doing the questioning,” suggesting that either the hosts would be fired or he would find a different show to join.
The fallout from Jones’s comments left the co-hosts of “Shan and RJ” stunned. Co-host RJ Choppy expressed his disbelief, saying, “I was floored. Speechless… It takes a lot for me to get upset. I didn’t get upset over it, but it was like, ‘You know what? Screw you man.'”
His co-host, Shan Shariff, described Jones’s remarks as “demeaning” and “insulting,” emphasizing that in their 14 years of interviewing Jones, they had never experienced anything like it before.
Despite Jones appearing on the 105.3 The Fan show approximately 20 times a year for over a decade, the co-hosts recalled that they had engaged in tough discussions with him on various topics, from segregation to kneeling for the national anthem to coaching changes. However, they noted that Jones had never displayed such anger and disdain during their previous conversations.
Sharrif reflected on Jones’s behavior, stating, “Never this type of venom, this type of anger and disgust from Jerry. I can’t figure it out… [Jones] is the greatest media ally and friend you could ever dream for in this position.” He added that Jones had never attempted to control the message or ask for questions in advance, highlighting the unique dynamic of their relationship.
