In the aftermath of a tough loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, Aaron Rodgers found himself driving home when he received an unexpected phone call from former teammate Davante Adams. The Green Bay Packers quarterback, still reeling from a game-deciding interception, chose not to answer the call at the time.
“I got a call around 12:15 a.m. from him but I didn’t answer,” Rodgers revealed later. “I wasn’t in the mood.”
Little did Rodgers know, the news Adams wanted to share would have a significant impact on their lives. Adams informed Rodgers that he was heading to New York after the Jets had worked out a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
“I literally found out close to 1 o’clock in the morning when he said he was getting on a plane,” Rodgers recalled. “My heart dropped, and I was like, ‘To where?’ He said, ‘New York.’ And I was like, ‘Really?'”
After eight seasons as teammates in Green Bay, Rodgers and Adams are now reunited in New York. In an interesting twist, they will be roommates for the time being as Adams settles into his new home.
The unexpected turn of events has left both players excited for this new chapter in their careers. The chemistry they built on the field in Green Bay will now be put to the test in the Big Apple. As they navigate this new journey together, Rodgers and Adams are eager to see what the future holds for them in New York.
