Davante Adams, the star wide receiver who recently made a move from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets, caused quite a stir by leaving a certain team off his list of preferred trade destinations. In an interview on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, Adams revealed that he had given the Raiders a list of teams he was willing to be traded to, but one team was notably absent.
Adams confirmed that teams like the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and the New York Jets were in the mix for his services. However, he made it clear that the Jets were his top choice. When asked about the Kansas City Chiefs, a division rival of the Raiders, Adams quickly shut down any speculation, saying, “Negative … That was talked about but, I mean it’s … I don’t want to say anything crazy but the Chiefs were not on the list.”
The Raiders eventually traded Adams to the Jets in exchange for a conditional third-round pick. The Jets and Adams then agreed to a restructured contract that reduced his salary cap hit for the current year. Additionally, two voidable years were added to the deal to provide flexibility for a potential contract extension in the offseason.
In the 2024 NFL season so far, Adams has made an impact with 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown in three games. His move to the Jets has generated quite a buzz in the football world, and it will be interesting to see how he continues to perform in his new team colors.
