New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is set to make his return to the field this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, following a two-game absence due to a concussion that left him with no memory of the incident.
Nabers opened up about the aftermath of the concussion, revealing, “I suffered from headaches and just, like, throbbing in the head, but I don’t actually remember what happened to cause the concussion.”
Describing the unsettling experience of not being able to recall the play that led to his injury, Nabers shared, “It was scary when I couldn’t remember what happened. I couldn’t remember the last play I was in, so yeah, it was kind of scary.”
The wide receiver was knocked out while attempting to make a catch along the sideline. With his hands on the ball and toes dug into the ground, there was nothing to cushion his fall as he landed face-first on the turf. Nabers can recall quarterback Daniel Jones throwing to him, but the memory of trying to make the catch is a blank.
“The last thing I remember was DJ throwing me the ball. That was it,” Nabers recounted.
In an effort to better protect himself from future concussions, Nabers has switched helmet models and expressed confidence in his ability to resume playing at the same level as before.
“I’m ready to go,” Nabers declared confidently.
As Nabers prepares to make his comeback, all eyes will be on him as he looks to make an impact on the field once again. Fans will be eager to see how he bounces back from the frightening experience and whether he can pick up right where he left off. Stay tuned for his return this Sunday against the Eagles.
