Cooper Kupp, the star wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, is gearing up to take the field on Thursday night. However, amidst his return, there looms a cloud of uncertainty—will this game mark his final appearance in a Rams uniform?
Reports have been swirling that the Rams have been engaging in discussions with multiple teams about potentially trading Kupp. Despite this speculation, Kupp himself revealed on Tuesday that he has not been approached by the organization or his representatives regarding any potential trade scenarios.
In addressing the rumors, Kupp stated, “Nothing really. It’s that time of the year, there’s going to be rumors and things that go around. I let that stuff as much as I can be in the background.” The talented receiver acknowledges the trade chatter but understands that ultimately, the decision lies in the hands of the Rams.
“I’m aware of it, but at the end of the day, I’m going to be where my feet are… I have a job to do here, and I take a lot of pride in doing everything I can for the guys in this building and being able to step on the field knowing that I prepared the best that I can. For 7 1/2 years, I’ve been an LA Ram, and I’ve taken that approach every single day. And whatever happens outside of that, I’ve got to control what I can control and right now that means being the best LA Ram that I can be.”
Kupp’s resounding performance in the 2021 season earned him the coveted title of the NFL’s offensive player of the year. Leading the league in catches (145), receiving yards (1,947), and touchdowns (16), Kupp showcased his sheer talent and skill on the field. In the following 23 games, he continued to impress, amassing a total of 152 catches for 1,696 yards and 12 touchdowns.
As Thursday night’s game approaches, the future remains uncertain for Cooper Kupp. Will he remain a staple of the Rams’ roster, or will he be donning a different team’s colors in the near future? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates as this ongoing saga unfolds.
