In a shocking turn of events, Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds has been sidelined with a frightening injury. The talented player was involved in a shooting incident that took place last Friday in Denver, as reported by KUSA-TV. Reynolds suffered two gunshot wounds – one to his left arm and another to the back of his head. Tragically, another man in the car was also shot in the back, while a third victim sustained injuries from shattering glass.
The harrowing incident unfolded in the early hours of October 18, prompting a swift response from the police following a 911 call. Prior to the shooting, Reynolds and the other victims were reportedly at Shotgun Willie’s, a popular strip club in Glendale. They insisted that no altercations occurred during their time at the club and left around 2:45 a.m. However, they soon found themselves being pursued by two vehicles whose occupants opened fire on them as they drove onto the highway. The victims’ car eventually became inoperable, forcing them to flee on foot.
In a positive development, Denver Police recently announced the arrest of two suspects linked to the case. Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza are currently in custody, with court documents alleging that Mendoza surveilled the victims inside the strip club before trailing them outside. The victims noticed multiple cars waiting for them to exit, and three vehicles proceeded to follow them out of the parking lot.
Despite the tumultuous events surrounding him, Reynolds had also been dealing with a broken finger that prompted the Broncos to place him on injured reserve. So far this season, he has amassed 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown. The football community sends their thoughts and prayers to Reynolds and the other victims as they continue to recover from this senseless act of violence.
