Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott, has found himself at the center of controversy yet again. Not only did he recently get engaged to Sarah Jane Ramos during the bye week, but he has also spoken out against the presence of fans during tours at the team’s training facilities.
Several current Cowboys players, including Prescott, have expressed concerns about the tours at The Star, Dallas’ training facility. Prescott stated, “I have no problem with the presence of fans, but it’s not in the best interest of the team’s peace of mind.”
In a recent interview with Jon Machota of The Athletic, Prescott defended his stance, saying, “On the one hand, this is all I know. I’m not going to let a couple of people walking around the building distract me. I’m present where I am.”
He continued, “I think, honestly, it’s an excuse. What’s the difference in [the media] coming into the locker room and talking? Guys complain about that, too, and I don’t understand it. It’s about being professional; some things you have to deal with.”
Prescott went on to compare the tours to playing in front of a sellout crowd at AT&T Stadium, emphasizing that distractions are part of the game. “If you get distracted by that, then you get distracted by the fans in whatever stadium you walk into,” he said.
It’s clear that Prescott is feeling the pressure from the team’s fans, many of whom have turned on him this season. Despite the criticism, he remains focused on his job and determined to lead the Cowboys to victory.
As the controversy continues to swirl around Prescott and the fan tours at The Star, one thing is certain – this quarterback is not backing down from expressing his opinions and defending his stance. Only time will tell how this situation unfolds and whether Prescott can lead his team to success in the face of adversity.
