In a bold move that showcases their commitment to bolstering their offensive line, the Seattle Seahawks recently signed center Connor Williams, despite his ACL injury last season while playing for the Dolphins in Week 14. The Seahawks are wasting no time in integrating Williams into their plans for the upcoming regular season.
Williams officially became part of the Seahawks roster on Sunday after they inked the deal and traded Nick Harris to the Browns. With Harris no longer in the picture, Olu Oluwatimi stands as the other option at center for the Seahawks. Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed confidence in Williams’ abilities, stating that the team’s objective is to have him game-ready for their season opener against the Broncos.
Speaking about the upcoming recovery process, Macdonald revealed that Williams will be working closely with the team’s sports performance staff for the next week or so to ensure he is fully prepared to rejoin full practice sessions. Williams himself is optimistic about his progress, stating, “I feel great. I’m probably about 95 percent. I’m getting there. Strength’s getting there. Pretty symmetrical honestly, and so I think we’re just devising a plan to slowly work back in and slowly get me on the field.”
Time is of the essence for Williams as he adjusts to his new team, but both he and the Seahawks organization are confident that they will make the most of the limited time before the regular season kicks off. This influx of talent on the offensive line could prove to be a game-changer for the Seahawks as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
