The 2024 NFL season has been a rough one for Haason Reddick, and the hits just keep coming for the edge rusher. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Reddick’s agency, CAA, has decided to part ways with him as he continues to hold out from the New York Jets.
Reddick, who signed a lucrative three-year, $45 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, had been a standout performer for the team over the past two seasons. With 27 sacks, six forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries, Reddick earned himself a second-team All-Pro nod in 2022.
However, as Reddick entered the final year of his contract, he sought a new deal. The Eagles, unwilling to meet his demands, traded him to the Jets in April for a conditional third-round pick. Unfortunately, the Jets were not interested in extending Reddick’s contract either, sticking to the $14.25 million he was owed for the 2024 season.
Frustrated with the lack of progress on a new deal, Reddick held out from training camp and has continued to sit out the regular season, accumulating fines along the way. The Jets, now 2-3, made the tough decision to fire head coach Robert Saleh amidst the team’s struggles.
As Reddick navigates these tumultuous waters, he finds himself in need of new representation. The future is uncertain for the talented edge rusher, but one thing is for sure – the 2024 season has not gone according to plan for Haason Reddick.
