In the red zone early on, the San Francisco 49ers struggled, going 0-for-2 in the first half. But they turned things around in the second half, managing to score on their first red zone opportunity.
Driving 70 yards in just nine plays, quarterback Brock Purdy connected with George Kittle for a 10-yard touchdown pass. Kittle made an impressive catch, tapping both feet in bounds before going out the side of the end zone. The touchdown gave the 49ers a comfortable 23-3 lead over their opponents, the Seattle Seahawks.
However, the Seahawks weren’t going down without a fight. Laviska Shenault Jr., who had a rough start with a fumble on a kickoff return in the first half, redeemed himself by taking the ensuing kick 97 yards for a touchdown. This electrifying kickoff return was only the second in the NFL this season, with Cardinals returner DeeJay Dallas being the first to achieve such a feat.
With Shenault’s touchdown, the Seahawks closed the gap, now trailing the 49ers 23-10. Despite the Seahawks’ comeback attempt, the 49ers offense led by Purdy and Kittle continued to impress.
Purdy had a solid performance, completing 12-of-18 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Kittle was a key target for Purdy, hauling in four receptions for 49 yards. The duo’s connection on the field proved to be instrumental in the 49ers’ success in the game.
As the game continued to unfold, both teams showcased their resilience and determination to secure the victory. The momentum shifted back and forth, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle blew.
