In a blow to the Chicago Bears’ secondary, it appears they will be without another key player for their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday. With Jaquan Brisker already sidelined due to a concussion, defensive back Tyrique Stevenson is now listed as doubtful with a calf injury.
Stevenson’s status took a turn for the worse when he was added to the injury report on Thursday after being limited in practice. Unfortunately, he was unable to participate in Friday’s practice, raising concerns about his availability for the game.
Despite the setback, Stevenson has been a playmaker for the Bears this season, recording five passes defensed along with an interception in five games. His absence would certainly be felt on a defense already missing Brisker, who did not travel with the team to London.
Joining Brisker on the sidelines will be defensive lineman Zacch Pickens (groin) and defensive back Terell Smith (hip), who have both been ruled out for Sunday’s game. Meanwhile, there is some uncertainty surrounding offensive lineman Teven Jenkins (ankle), who is listed as questionable after being limited in Friday’s practice. Defensive lineman Jacob Martin (toe), who is making a return from injured reserve, is also questionable for the matchup.
On a more positive note, defensive back Kyler Gordon (heel) has been cleared to play, providing a boost to the secondary. With Gordon available, the Bears will hope to overcome the absence of key players and secure a victory across the pond in London.
