In a thrilling development for Indianapolis Colts fans, star quarterback Anthony Richardson seems to be on the fast track to return to action this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Richardson has been sidelined for the past two games due to an oblique injury sustained during a tough Week 4 showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, his recent full participation in Wednesday’s practice has sparked hope for his imminent comeback.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Richardson expressed his optimism about his recovery, stating, “I’m able to move better, without any worries…confident in all of the movements, throwing the ball — confident with that. Then just running around out there practicing, I’m confident with all that. So, I’d probably say that’s the biggest difference.”
The resilient quarterback further emphasized his readiness, noting, “As of now, I think I’m pretty good. We’re just making sure and hoping that when I am out there competing full-speed at practice, nothing sets me back. So, that’s pretty much the only concerns right there — making sure I’m good throughout the week just running.”
Since being drafted last year, Richardson has showcased tremendous talent, starting in eight of the 23 games he’s been available for. Despite facing difficulties in finishing some of those contests, he remains steadfast in his commitment to the team’s success. When asked about the pressure to maintain his availability, Richardson replied, “We just try to treat every week the same…trying to be 1-0 each week. So, I don’t think I’m pressing to try to string any W’s together. I just want to do my part for the team, making sure I’m doing it the best way I can so we can get a dub.”
On the field, Richardson has exhibited his skills, completing 51% of his passes for 654 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions this season. Additionally, he has showcased his versatility by rushing for 141 yards and a touchdown. Colts fans are undoubtedly eager to see their quarterback back in action, leading the charge against the Dolphins this weekend. Richardson’s potential return brings a renewed sense of hope and excitement for the team as they aim to secure a crucial victory.
