Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane is working his way back from a concussion and looks like he will be ready to take the field against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Achane has been participating fully in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, much to the delight of head coach Mike McDaniel.
When asked about Achane’s status in his Friday press conference, McDaniel exuded optimism, stating, “Would I say I’m optimistic? Absolutely. But I do not have a crystal ball. Something can happen today.” This positive outlook is a good sign for the Dolphins as they prepare for their upcoming match-up.
Achane has been a key contributor for Miami this season, rushing for 183 yards and a touchdown while also catching 21 passes for 186 yards and another touchdown in just five games. His versatility and explosive playmaking ability make him a valuable asset to the team.
However, it’s not all good news on the injury front for the Dolphins. Safety Jevon Holland is dealing with a hand injury and is currently listed as day-to-day. McDaniel emphasized the importance of being cautious with Holland’s injury, stating, “You are trying to get work without making a vulnerable situation worse. We will be very responsible with the long-term vision.”
Holland, in his fourth season, has been a solid contributor on defense, tallying 22 total tackles, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble so far this season. His absence would be felt in the secondary if he is unable to suit up against the Colts.
As for the rest of Miami’s injured players, the full injury report with game statuses will be released later on Friday. Dolphins fans will be eagerly awaiting news on the availability of key players like Achane and Holland as they look ahead to Sunday’s crucial game.
