In a bid to turn around their shaky start to the 2024 season, the Miami Dolphins are gearing up for a crucial showdown with the Indianapolis Colts with a boost in their running game.
Running back De’Von Achane, who has been sidelined with a concussion, has cleared protocol and is set to make his return to the field on Sunday against the Colts. “I feel great and ready to contribute to the team,” Achane told reporters on Friday afternoon, as reported by Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.
The 23-year-old Achane suffered the concussion during the Dolphins’ 15-10 victory over the New England Patriots on October 6th, where he was limited to just 18 yards on three carries.
Despite the setback, Achane has been a key player for the Dolphins this season, leading the team in rushing yards with 183 on 56 attempts. In his rookie year in 2023, the Texas A&M product racked up 800 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
Miami has faced challenges with injuries to key players like quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and running back Raheem Mostert, but they are still within striking distance of the division-leading Buffalo Bills in the AFC East, trailing by just one and a half games.
With Achane back in the lineup, the Dolphins will look to capitalize on his explosive playmaking ability and provide a spark to their offense as they aim to climb up the standings and make a push for the playoffs.
