On September 30, an alarming incident unfolded in Arizona involving former NFL player Eddie Lacy. The vehicle, which matched Lacy’s, was stopped by Scottsdale police officers after they were alerted to the scene.
In a police report obtained by TMZ Sports, officers noted that Lacy appeared disoriented. Body cam footage captured him struggling to speak clearly, even after an officer recognized him from his days as an Alabama Crimson Tide star.
Lacy informed officers that he had just flown in from Green Bay and was on his way to his girlfriend’s house nearby. He admitted to having “a single shot” of tequila on the flight, but when asked to take a breathalyzer test, his blood alcohol content (BAC) level was a shocking .325 – well over Arizona’s legal limit of .08.
Despite acknowledging a prior DUI, Lacy seemed uncertain about the legal limit when questioned. Due to injuries from his football career, he was unable to perform traditional field sobriety tests, leading to his arrest based on the breathalyzer results.
Court documents revealed that Lacy is facing several charges, including extreme DUI with a BAC of 0.20 or higher. He is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing next month.
This is not Lacy’s first DUI offense. Records show that he was previously arrested in March 2022 for driving in Scottsdale with a BAC of .247.
Coincidentally, just days before the recent incident, Lacy had been back at Lambeau Field, where he played for the Green Bay Packers from 2013 to 2017, accumulating over 3,600 rushing yards in his NFL career. The situation has raised concerns about his well-being and legal troubles as he navigates the consequences of his actions.
