In the midst of the NFL season, now in its seventh week, some teams are already looking towards the future as they evaluate their performance. Whether they are hopeful for a playoff spot or eyeing a top-10 pick in the upcoming draft, one thing remains constant – NFL scouts have been hard at work on the road for the past three months.
Meanwhile, college football is gearing up for Week 9, with several teams already securing bowl eligibility. This early success has started to paint a clearer picture of the 2025 NFL draft class, with some players rising in the ranks and others falling, along with more defined position groups.
Looking ahead to the draft, set to take place on April 24–26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, there is still six months to go. However, it’s never too early to start speculating. Here’s an updated look at the opening round from our initial mock on Sept. 25.
Please note: The draft order is currently based on teams’ current records.
As teams prepare for the draft, their biggest needs are becoming apparent. At the top of the list are offensive tackle, wide receiver, and edge rusher positions. These are areas where many teams will be looking to improve in the upcoming draft.
With that in mind, the current pick in our mock draft is Travis Hunter, a versatile player out of Colorado who can contribute both as a wide receiver and a cornerback. His skill set and athleticism make him an attractive prospect for teams in need of playmakers on both sides of the ball.
As the season progresses and teams continue to evaluate talent, the draft picture will become clearer. For now, scouts and analysts will continue to watch closely and speculate on who will be the top picks come April.
